Summer 2017 show is Over the Moon by Jodi Picoult
(Note, we will be cutting most of the singing/songs out of the show)
"Not everything is what it seems in the magical storybook land of Hanoveria. Romance isn't all it's cracked up to be, and the town is ruled by a queen so consumed with power that she plotted against her own brother to get the throne. So when Luna, the moon, descends to earth disguised as a human, she has a chance to help everyone find love and happiness, even falling in love herself. But on the way to happily ever after, she'll have to deal with some wacky evildoers, a bunch of fed up princesses, and just about every other fairy tale creature you can think of!" Summary from Playscripts.com Our cast of characters will include: Hairy Godmother (you read that right!); Mickey, Minnie, and Algernon the three "optically challenged" mice; Porky, Hamlet, and Francis Bacon the pigs; Jean-Claude, an Italian man from Cleveland and many more! Summer 2016 show was The Twelfth Night (or what you will... or whatever)!
Congratulations to all students who took part in this production -- a first glance at Shakespeare for nearly all of you!!
It was also a first time on stage for many of you, as well, which garners another congratulations. Nerves ran rampant, lines were swallowed, moments were awkward on stage, but more importantly: every single student improved. You became an ensemble ready to tell a story. You learned new theatre terms, became characters different from yourselves, and experienced the stage in every way! I hope to see many of you back throughout the Fall/Winter/Spring sessions and next year as we explore a new adventure.
