Only one more class left in the session for Creative Drama 4-6 and 7-10. I can't believe how fast it went!
In the 4-6 class this week, we had a Characters theme, and students were able to dress up as whatever they wanted. Unfortunately, none of my students came. I was, however, joined by the Hulk, a queen, a race car driver, Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, a police officer, and a knight! It was the most wonderful kind of chaos.
Our activities for this week included:
7-10 year olds also enjoyed Fun House Mirror and Wax Museum before hopping onto the stage to practice their short plays. This week, we focused on projection (making sure their voices can be heard), and cheating out (positioning your body so the audience can see you). With full costumes and some added stage lights, they're just about ready for next week's sharing day!

Our activities for this week included:
- Fun House Mirror - a fun take on a classic game. The Mirror Game has the students copying each other's movements, as if one were a reflection in the mirror! This version, however, transforms those reflections into wacky, kooky versions. The Mirror Game teaches focus, body control, and cooperation.
- Witch's Brew - another spooky take on a game familiar to most of my students. After drinking a witch's potion, students transform into new beings such as ghosts, butterflies, and werewolves. One potion even turned them invisible! This game introduces character development and role-playing.
- Wax Museum - a visitor to a new wax museum gets quite a spook when the statues start moving. Statues can only move when the visitor isn't looking at them, but if they're spotted, they get moved into storage. This game helps with body control, concentration, and maintaining positive attitudes.
