Treasure maps, adventures, and pirates.. oh my!
This week, students went on a wild adventure as we carefully followed a treasure map to seek out a hidden pirate treasure. But, before we went, we had to make sure we could blend in as pirates. Students practiced their best "ARRRGGHHH"s and learned how to "swab the deck", the difference between port and starboard, and what to do if there's a "MAN OVERBOARD!"
Once training was done, we traveled through a thick jungle and across an ocean to find the chest of invisible treasure. Only the students were able to tell me what was inside.
Then, disaster struck! Pirates arrived to kidnap all of the students. I tried to offer some natives I found to compensate, but it seems most of you parents are rather attached to your own children. So the natives and I went on a rescue mission to get the students back, winning in an epic battle against fierce pirates!!
If you're interested in finding your own treasure, ask your student to use their best drama class memory to recreate our treasure map.
